Temperament:
A Gentle Giant is often used describe the Great Dane breed. Though a
large dog, the Great Dane possesses a friendly and gentle nature.
Generally, Great Danes do well with other dogs, other pets such as
cats, and humans; children and adults alike.
The Great Dane is a large dog, but
they have big hearts too. We have never owned a better inside dog
than Diesel. From pup to full grown dog, he as been the easiest dog
to take care of inside. Potty training was a breeze, shed hair is
minimal, and the Great Danes calm nature makes him a great inside
dog.
Outside, our two Great Danes get
along great with all of our other dogs, even the cats. Our female,
Harley, is an outside dog. We acquired here at nearly a year old,
and she had been outside all her life. We thought it best to keep
her outside instead of keeping two large dogs inside.
When company is over, the Danes seem
to be the life of the party. They love attention and meeting new
people. A friendly lean or taking a seat in a guests lap is usually
a sign of trust from these dogs. Their personalities seem almost
human. We promise, you'll love your Great Dane as much as we do.
-The Skittlethorpes
Currently we have one breeding pair
